Merry Christmas everyone! I wish I could be there to spend the Holidays with you, but God has called me to Costa Rica to spend this wonderful time of year! Don’t we just look like ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY!?! It’s because we arrrrrrree!!
I have also put together a small newsletter to give you an summary of what has all been going on these past few months. I couldn’t find a way to clearly post it on to the blog, so I uploaded it to my DropBox account. The file is open so please feel free to pass it along and read it anytime you would like. Please click on the WR Logo and it will take you to the PDF.

Currently I am working in Los Chiles in Costa Rica. When we got our contact sheet, we thought we were going to be working in a children’s rehab center. It technically still IS a children’s rehab center, but it’s just not complete. The rehab center will hopefully be started in January, so we have just been preparing the building and area for it to be a clean and safe place. We have been working in the fields in the morning chopping down bushes and trees. I tell you what, I’ve never been much of an outdoor worker, but dang this boy can use a machete! We are clearing the fields so that our contacts can use the field to grow crops; and also when the kids and such start coming in January they can help produce the crops and care for them.

The other part of our ministry is putting together Christmas parties for about 1,500 kids! Our contacts have set up seven different parties and we are to create a program to show the true meaning of Christmas…the birth of Jesus. We are putting together games, songs, and a very cool skit to show the power of Jesus. We will also be presenting the Gospel so that all the kids can hear about it. It’s just very exciting to be able to showcase the Gospel and bring Jesus to over 1,500 little ninos!
I am sad to say that I will definitely miss my family. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t with my family for Christmas. I also can’t remember the last time I had a Christmas without snow. Sad day. But, you know what, I’m pulling through because this is where God has called me to be. Even though I’m missing my friends and family back at home, I’m still able to spend Christmas with my World Race family!
Being in the Christmas spirit is such an important thing. I’m blessed to have been able to spend all of my Christmas’ with my family. Christmas to me used to be just about getting presents and eating food. Now, it’s a time of celebration for the birth our Savior Jesus Christ. This is a time for people to just share love with one another and be merry. If Jesus wasn’t born, who knows how awful this place would be.
With the spirit of Christmas in full bloom, I am asking to be a recipient of your blessings. I have been showered with lots of blessings and support for far, but I am still short of my financial obligation to maintain participation on The World Race. I am in need of having $10,000 in my account, and currently I am at $6,200. I need to have that goal met by December 31st, 2010 in order to continue the race. I’m asking for a “hail mary” type of miracle, but I know that tis’ the season to BELIEVE! I encourage you to look in your heart and consider financially supporting me and helping me continue on this incredible World Race journey the Lord is calling me to do. Just think of how incredible your heart will sing knowing that you helped a young missionary like myself. You are making a HUGE impact on my life as well as others around the world. I’m asking for you to believe in the Spirit of Christmas. The spirit of GIVING. We may not know eachother, but we know the Lord. This is HIS ministry and HIS will.
Is it in you to help carry on HIS will?
