The October 2010 “S” Squad

60+ People on FIRE for CHRIST!

We travel as “S” Squad, but when we do ministry in each country we all split up into teams of 6-7. I will now introduce my team……

Team ARROW

  Team Arrow preparing for battle!

       As a team we decided that every moment of our lives need to be lived intentionally, that no moment would go to waste. Anarrowmust be shot intentionally in order to reach it’s target. As a team we realized that we were all specifically designed and made by our Creator to do GREAT things in His name! An arrowmust be precisely and specifically designed in order to fly straight towards the target. As a team we felt  like our purpose was to bring lightinto the darkness of this world, like an arrow of lightpiercing the darkness. As a team we also like that the word arrowbrings about the image of a battle, because our purpose is to fight off the darkness in order to release God’s Kingdom in this world. We believe that God will draw us from his quiver of hopeand use us to pierce the darkness, delievering blow after blow to the devil over the next 11 months! I can’t wait to spend the next 11 months with this amazing team that God has handpicked!-(Written by teammate Rebecca Weaver)

Our wonderful team leader. God has blessed Mary with an incredible gift of leadership. Her smile and personality is contagious and I know God has some amazing plans for her to lead us through the nations! Her LOVE for God and others comes in a special form that cannot be replicated and I cannot wait to see the love she will bring to the orphans and widows! Love ya Mary!

Tracy is a very kind soul. The words God speaks through her are simply graceful. She is the financial advisor of the team and I have the utmost confidence she will do a fantastic job! God has blessed her with so many great features and I cannot wait to see what He has in store for her on the World Race! Love ya Tracy!

Rebecca Weaver

Oh Rebecca…..She is an amazing woman of God. A true Princess! She brings so much life to the team and her enthusiasm will definitely keep us going through the tough times of the Race. Her heart is bursting with love and I can tell she’s ready to let her heart SING! Rebecca just recently passed her nursing boards so she is a now certified as a RN!! Woo-hoo for medical personnel on the team! Rebecca, be prepared for lots of “I don’t feel wells” “Is it suppose to itch like this” and even “Wow…I didn’t know my body could produce that!” J Love ya Rebecca!

Lindsay Dobner

Lindsay posses a TRUE Godly heart. God has called her into full time missionary for a specific reason. She has spent several of the past few months doing full time missionary work in beautiful Nicaragua. She has a passion for young children and I’m so glad we’ll get to see her LOVE for children first hand once the World Race gets started! You can just hear the passion for God in her voice-it’s a beautiful thing! She also knows fluent Spanish, so hopefully she’ll be able to teach me some real Spanish since the only Spanish I know is street Spanish from listening to George Lopez stand ups! J Viva La Raza! Love ya Lindsay!

Dexter (Dex) Meeks

Dexter’s Lab as I like to call him. Dex is a great Man of God. We cliqued from the very first night at camp and God has graciously placed us together on a team. I’ve learned a lot from Dex about what it means to be a Man of God. His thoughts and ideas are full of wisdom and knowledge. He relies on scriptures to fully live his life. His heart is on fire for Christ and I know he’ll be sharing with EVERYONE he comes in contact with on the Race. Love ya, BRO

I am so excited to be sharing my life and serving alongside these incredible people for 11 months. God hand selected each and every one of us to be together. We are children of God sent to bring hope to the nations. We will do whatever it takes to bring Glory to our Father. We will remain strong when the enemy tries to facilitate lies and bring us down—we will PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE! (There will be another blog about that) With our combined love we will bring the love of Jesus to all those who are lost, hurt, needy, and sick.

I’ve never been so encouraged and moved by a select group of people. God has placed a strong bond throughout this team. I have a new sense of motivation to start fundraising because not being able to go on the race due to financial reasons with Team Arrow is NOT an option!
