Why me? I ask the Lord. Why are you planting The World Race into my heart? There HAS to be thousands of other twenty-somethings that know the Gospel more than I do and they should be the ones spreading your love around the world. Well recently I was sitting in church at Southbridge Community Church and the Pastor was preaching a series about the book of Genesis. I remember praying a few nights before asking “WHY ME?! I don’t want to leave all I have behind, I have so much going on and I will be hurting a lot of people if I leave. Can’t I do something else to serve you Lord?” I don’t want to disobey and I know HE loves me throughout,  but I just wanted an explaination. Sunday morning came and it was time for the Pastor to begin the series. As the story went on a power point slide came up and the title was “Why Noah?” Why did the Lord choose Noah and his family to be saved from the Great Flood. I then realized that my prayer of “Why Me” is being answered right here in church. The Pastor said these words and those words clearly answered my prayer. “Why Noah? What qualifies somebody to lead something really big for God? I believe this story illustrates it. RIGHTEOUSNESS. Why Noah? Because he was more RIGHTEOUS.” He also began to say “There are responsibilities and opportunies that God sends our way because of the RIGHTEOUSNESS He sees in our lives.” I’ve always believed that I have a righteous heart. Always looking for somehow to help thy fellow man. I believe He sees the righteousness in MY heart and feels that it time for me to go venture out in His Kingdom and share my righteousness for the Lord with the hurt and needy.

You can listen to Pastor Darin’s presentation on Genesis and catch a glimpse of my answered prayer. Here is the link: http://www.southbridgecc.org/scmedia.php?type=mediaplayer&loc=www.southbridgecc.org/media/media/mediaplayer.php&id=20100224110256DA2DD9

I believe the “Why Noah” section is a little after the halfway point so you can just fast forward, OR listen to the entire lesson. Very powerful stuff!

Opportunities. Opportunities like The World Race. Loud and clear God. Gotcha.
Now here I am about seven months from leaving on The World Race. I’m scared. I think everyone on The Race is scared at some point. But God provides PEACE. I have 110% FAITH that HE will guide me where I need to go.
