Remember I mentioned that it’s ‘up and down’ here?
Well, this week (week
4) actually went by pretty fast. This week we didn’t have guest speakers coming
in but we had a bunch of the staff share their testimonies. I actually liked
the less intense pace.
One of the best classes for me happened this week. It was
about shifting atmosphere.
“We are not thermometers, we are thermostats.”

We don’t just sense
the spiritual atmosphere, we change the atmosphere.
Have you ever been at a party where everyone was laughing
and having fun and then this gloomy person walks in, and suddenly the whole
atmosphere becomes gloomy and cold too? Or an angry person walks into the
middle of your conversation and suddenly the whole room tenses up?
What you’re conscious and aware of,
you release. If you’re focused on being depressed, you release that.
If you’re conscious of God’s presence, it’s released as a fragrance.
All of us carry the presence of God because we have God
living inside of us. Picture this, surrounding us is a sphere(bubble) of
Kingdom. Nothing that we don’t have authority over can come in. As we grow and
mature, our bubble grows as well. And this bubble is not only for us, but it
affects the people around us too.
Because the Holy Spirit in us is like a river (not a pond),
it needs to flow out. Since we carry
the Kingdom, we can release the Kingdom/God’s presence everywhere we go.
Here’s a story from Daniel the speaker.
When he first realized this truth, he went out to test and
see if it would really work. One day he was with his friend and they stopped at
a gas station. His friend went into the gas station while he waited on the
passenger side. A truck drove up beside him. In it was this truck driver with a
can of beer in his hand, cap worn backwards, and really loud music blaring out
of the radio. The guy on the passenger side gets out of the truck.
Sitting there, Daniel could sense the presence of
depression, unforgiveness, and hurt inside of this man. He starts praying in
tongues and releasing peace and love over the man.
3 minutes went by. Nothing happened.
5 minutes went by. Still nothing happened.
Daniel keeps praying and releasing Kingdom.
After 10 minutes, the man turned off the radio. He took off
his cap and put his face in his hands. Tears start streaming down his face.
Why would a man start crying in the middle of the day out of
nowhere? It’s because the Kingdom of God hit him.
Walk around, discern what’s happening, and go and release
the opposite to it. For example, if you sense depression, release joy; if you
sense anger, release peace. “I’m not moved by what I see and what I
feel. I’m moved by what I believe.” Never underestimate what has been
released.
Remember the Kingdom that
you carry and go and release Kingdom!
