This week has just been amazing. As exhausting as it was, it was
definitely worth it.

The team that came from Michigan arrived Saturday night after a 12
hours drive. My first impression of them was that they were a rather
‘traditional’ group, in the sense not so much about the Holy Spirit. Sunday
morning we went to a church whose service reminded me a lot of Latin American
churches in the way they do worship – dance, flags, shouts. Definitely not your
hymn-singing churches. Having no background about the team that had just
arrived the night before, I was trying to ‘feel’ them out and see how they were
like. Again they gave me the impression that they were a ‘traditional’ group
and I was wondering if it was going to be a difficult week ahead.

Sunday night Shannon shared about listening to the Voice of God
and stories from the field that related to that. Monday morning we tried it out
and told them to listen and see what pictures/words/colors/numbers/etc God
gives them. A few shared what they got and they kept an eye out throughout the
day for them. Everyday a team also did a Random Acts of Kindness where they gave
God the space and time, no agenda, and see what He wanted them to do by asking
Him. Everyday they came back FULL of
stories of how God led them through almost like a treasure hunt of the
pictures/words/colors/numbers/etc that He had given them which led them to do a
‘random’ act of kindness, which honestly, is not random at all, because God led
them to it.

I honestly cannot believe how fast God has moved in this group.
From never ever heard of the concept of ‘listening prayer’ to being skeptical
to trying it out to seeing God show up everyday in such a personal way. They have ran with whatever we gave them, open
and willing to learn, took leaps of faith
and within just a period of 3 short days, have grown by leaps and
bounds.
I am so encouraged by them and so thankful that God has been so
faithful to show up each time.

Mark 6:5

Jesus said to
them,
“A prophet is not without honor except in his
own town, among his relatives and in his own home.”
 He could
not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on
a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.

It says, Jesus ‘could’ not do any miracles there, not he ‘would’ not,
because of their lack of faith. It makes me wonder how often Jesus couldn’t do
a miracle in my life or somebody I know because of unbelief. I want to be found
with reckless, ridiculous faith!

Watch for stories from the field in
the next blog about their first experience to listening prayer and how God
showed up big time!
