I am really excited to go into this Month 4 in Honduras.
These two days of ‘resting’ while travelling have readied me once again to dive
into next month.

What did I learn last month in Peru? That I need to intentionally choose God over having fun.

VS

The previous month in Ecuador was so
much busier ministry wise compared to Peru, but I pursued God a lot more.
Because I know I needed him to give me the strength to go through each day as
we poured out to the school. Last month however, I was not intentionally about
choosing God, but instead was constantly choosing to have fun – volleyball,
playing cards, hanging out, playing drums, …… not that any of those things are
bad, but it took time away from God.

So going into this Month 4, being conscious and aware of
this, I want to have a deeper intimacy with God and to run recklessly after
Him. Do keep me in your prayers on this!

On another note, God really spoke to me and brought back to
mind the character of John the Baptist this morning.

Luke3: 4-6

“He is a voice
shouting in the wilderness,

‘Prepare the way
for the Lord’s coming!

Clear the road
for Him!

The valleys will
be filled,

And the
mountains and hills made level.

The curves will
be straightened,

And the rough
places made smooth.

And then all
people will see,

The salvation
sent from God.'”

Jeremiah 5:13

“God’s prophets
are all windbags who don’t really speak for Him.”

John the
Baptist:

1.
Was obedient

2.
Knew he had a specific role to play – announcing
the coming of Jesus and to encourage people to turn away from sin and back to
God.

3.
Had the spirit and power of Elijah

4.
Was a prophet of the Most High

5.
Was strong in spirit

6.
Was ready and waiting

7.
Was set apart

8.
Spoke with God’s authority

9.
Spoke God’s truth

10.
Pointed people beyond himself back to Jesus

11.
Was uncompromising

12.
Was God-appointed

13.
Was fearless

We are a
generation to prepare the way for the Lord’s coming. We have been appointed,
set apart to be the voice. Are we ready and waiting? We are called to be God’s
prophets. But what are we speaking? Is it God’s truth?

 Did God had
to use Ezekiel to bring the bones back to life? Absolutely not. But He chose
to.

“Although the miracle of the bones could only be
affected by the divine power, God desired the prophetic utterance of a human
vessel. As Ezekiel prophesied to the bones, supernatural breath came into them.
This breath brought life and mobilized them. This is what the gospel proclamation
is all about – speaking life into those who are without life.” (Prophetic
Evangelism by Sean Smith).

God I don’t
want to be a windbag that is only full of wind without substance, that puffs up
with self-righteousness. But teach me, fill me with Your Words that I may be a
voice SHOUTING in the desert for You.

SUPER STOKED FOR MONTH 4!
