Hello everyone!
I thought this time around blogging that I would lighten the mood and take away some of the seriousness!  On the World Race we do a lot of funny things that we aren’t used to.  We call them “Only on the World Race” and here are some of them:
Only on the World Race…
-Does your team leader pee her pants on the contact’s floor in the middle of night and not tell them till morning.
-Wear the same shirt for climbing a mountain, bed that night and church the next morning.
-Is pooping your pants considered normal.
-Have chapatti parties.
-Is your shower dependent on the weather.
-Does your teammate go into the squatty potty to change after her outdoor shower in the torrential rainstorm, only to find another teammate dihareaaing it up.
-Do you get excited to see a white person walking down the street.
-Do you have daily poop reports.
-Do you go to bed by 9pm.
-Do you do the Electric Slide for an African congregation at church.
-Do 6 white girls and 35 African men fit into the back of a small pick-up truck for an hour.
-Do you feel comfortable sharing a single bed with another girl for a month.
-Are you forced to go up for 5 plates of food each night and get applauded when you do.
-Is it okay to have our pet, Mr. Tumnus (the goat) slaughtered in our backyard.
-Do you share tooth brushes.
-Does everyone on your squad get burned by motor bikes.
-Do you fit 4 people on a motor bike.
-Do you figure out what bug bite you have by comparing your and your teammate’s legs.
-Do you try and outdo your teammate with the number of bites you have.
-Do you stay up till 1am making chapattis and hear a strange man meow at you.
-Do you find a chicken sitting on the toilet.
-Do you have peeping Toms in your house 24/7.
-Do you cross borders illegally (oops).
-Is it normal to take immodium like candy.
Hope you enjoyed these as much as we did while writing them!
I had a fabulous month in Uganda.  God has really been opening my heart to emotions, as I feel sometimes I am emotionless.  I feel like when I cry I am weak, but God has been showing me that opening up and letting those emotions out is a sign of strength, not weakness. He has been revealing to me that I am a Spiritual being having a physical experience, not a physical being having a Spiritual experience (quoted from C.S. Lewis).   Not that I’m a crybaby now or anything, haha.  It’s crazy that the month is up and that we hit up Rwanda on Tuesday!  Until next time I love you all and thank you for reading my blog! Hope you enjoyed it!
