I hate being in pain.
For real.
Now you are saying, “Well nobody likes to be in pain.
Duh.
But I just want to complain.
It has officially been a month since my injury, and I am officially traumatized.
Let us recap:
- Do construction at kids’ camp and break my back.
- Go to the “neurosurgeon and he breaks it even more.
- Go get x-rays, see another “neurosurgeon, and he officially breaks me.
- Sit in bed for two weeks and get yelled at by Adam, Diane, and Cassie every time I get out of bed.
- Tyler goes home.
- Deon and Rynette call me and tell me I am coming home.
- I come home.
- Go to see Dr. Carll, (who is amazing) and he gave me some real medication.
- Go back to Dr. Carll after a week and he says physical therapy and then if not better in a week, injections in back.
- Pain does not get better, and physical therapy doesn’t really help, so Dr. Carll sends me to Dr. Ray.
And I swear, during this whole time, my doctors are getting younger, and cuter. I have decided from now on to wear at least some type of makeup, and a regular bra to my doctors’ visits instead of the sports bras I have been wearing to them! (Since I am a single lady who wouldn’t mind a doctor for a husband, and a hardcore Christian doctor at that.)
- So I went to Dr. Ray yesterday, and he sent me today to get injections in my back.
- Dr. Spicer, (another cute young doctor) did the procedure today. They knocked me out with anesthesia, and stuck needles all up and down my back. Let’s just say I am in some pain after all that.
Â
Well, as you can see, this month has been pretty hellish. Wouldn’t you agree?
I am positive that these injections will work, as are all of my cute young doctors.
Over these last few weeks, my pain has been better than it was while I was in Moldova, and I know for a fact I would not have made it to Kenya if I hadn’t have come home. So thank you Rynette and Deon for looking out for me!
I am ready to purchase my plane ticket to Kenya to meet my whole H Squad family on October 30th. So with a lot of prayer, and cooperating from the doctors, I will be well on my way!
Â
Through all of this, I have not lost any faith in my God. He is amazing, and I learn something new from Him every day. Whether it is through prayer, the bible, worshiping, or reading My Upmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers (whom I love). Abba is ridiculously spectacular, and He has some pretty big plans coming my way.
Â
Continue to pray for healing on my back! I should know within the next five days if I am pain-free or not, which it will be.
Â
I will update when I can, and thank you for the prayers and encouragements!
