Malawi

After a morning spent at the house we left at 1:30 PM to go to a nearby village. The landscape is so beautiful here, but I forgot my camera today, next time for sure. We walked for about 30 minutes including down and up a ravine. We ended up at a cute little brick home with thatched roof and blue windows. They were kind enough to place four chairs outside and a bench. The women took the chairs and us men took the bench. They put out a straw mat about 6 to 10 feet in front of us and slowly people began to show up. We greeted most of them then Falock (our translator) said it was time for us to teach. Sadie started and we each got to share about what God has been doing in our lives. Sadie shared, and then Ashley, then Rachel, then Annie, then Darron was trying to find a verse, so I started by asking if any of them have Jesus in their hearts, the answer is no, so I start the beginning/overall part of my testimony and Falock translates then starts preaching. For a moment I was like, “I came all the way here to speak, let me speak,” but the Holy Spirit reminded me that He was working through Falock at the moment. When Falock and finished he said, very nonchalantly, that they had accepted Christ. (Me) “What! That’s amazing!”… (Falock) “what?” Language barriers can be awkward and fun. Eventually he got it and he wanted Darron to start teaching, but about four people had their hand up that they wanted to receive Jesus. So we said we needed to do that first. Through a long, semi awkward part we eventually arrived that I would lead them in a salvation prayer and Falock would translate and they would repeat after Falock. Six people accepted Jesus today! And Daddy gave me the privilege to lead them in prayer! Afterwards, we all (world racers, translators, and new brothers and sisters in Christ) held hands and we (world racers and translators) prayed blessings over them and asked the Holy Spirit to come and fill them. It was a great afternoon! The wife of the house even blessed us with peanuts to take home, such generous people. The six that came to Christ were mostly, from what I was told, churchgoers but they have never received Jesus into their hearts. What a privilege, thank you Jesus! 🙂
