After Leah and Ryan had received the number three during listening prayer, our team decided to leave Granada after three days. We went to San Juan Del Sur despite receiving admonitions that we should wait until after Semana Santa (which is a lot like spring break in the U.S.). We promptly met Jennyfer. [For Jennyfer’s full story, please read my previous blog Learning Forgiveness.]
Our relationship with Jennyfer grew throughout the month. Ryan graciously invited her for coffee with us on Easter. Leah then asked if she attends church and she responded by volunteering to come with us to Easter service. After this, she introduced us to her daughter. Since it was her daughter’s birthday we offered a prayer for the two of them together.
One week later it was Jennyfer’s birthday. We took her some sweet bread. She invited us back for cake later that evening. She welcomed us and shared desert with us, saying she was happy we could be with her on this special day. Ryan was back home in Texas at this time. She mentioned she is diabetic and needed something for that, asking if he could bring some back. We said we would ask if it is possible. We prayed for her before leaving.
One week later, we stopped in while taking a worship walk. Ryan had brought Moringa Powder for himself and the team. He thought he could give some to her, since it is a health booster. There were some hesitations on the team because we didn’t know it’s effects on diabetes. We looked them up online. Moringa Powder is a recommended homeopathic remedy for diabetes.
She was happy to receive the gift. We sang a few songs for her and prayed again for her before moving on.
