Hello World!! Welcome to my World Race Blog!
Who I am:
My name is Patrick Booth. I am a 31 year young man and have spent most of those years in a quiet little suburb North of Dallas, Texas. I have been blessed in countless ways throughout my lifetime, for which I will be ever grateful. I am a son, grandson, uncle, brother, counselor, critic, entrepreneur, leader, follower, lover and hater.
What I’ve done, where I’ve been:
I have always been called to help people. I was blessed to receive hardship in my youth, so that I would be prepared to deal with it as an adult. I never went through that hardship without love and support from my family, friends and church family though. This has always driven me to try to give back the blessings as much as I receive them. This calling has pushed me to dedicate my life to counseling others through their difficulties, volunteer routinely with local charities, and travel with church groups to places as far as South Africa, Mozambique, Chile, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Mexico.
What and where I am called to go do:
I now hear a changing in the wind. In the past, I have sought to satisfy my need to help others through a career in counseling. This has been very challenging, but equally indescribably rewarding. My commitment to this has limited my opportunities to travel abroad and spread the love I long to share in more expansive ways. No longer. I am making a commitment to immerse myself in the cultures where my love can help the most. Cultures in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
Along with the World Race project by Adventures in Missions and with your support, I will spend a full month in each of these countries in 2015 spreading love, compassion and understanding to any who will receive it!
Thank you so much to all of you who have shown me support in the past and whose spirits will continue to boost mine, as I journey to provide compassion to a world longing for love.
