G’day, Kia’Ora, Kiarana!

Hello, my name is Patricia Stratton. I am more commonly known as Trish to friends and family and then there are also some other odd names people come up with to get my attention. I am almost a quarter of a century old and are a little scared about that :S I come from a family of four girls and am the second oldest. My sisters are some of my best friends (aww), we are all very close in age as my mother had four kids in five years. I grew up in a little teeny tiny town in New Zealand called Tokoroa (where i thought everyone came from when i was 5). When I was 16 we moved to Melbourne, Australia where i finished high school. I took a year off school and went to the states for a summer camp, then came home and moved to South Australia to go to university.

I did a degree in Primary Education (or elementary in american) and after four long, grueling years of study i came out the other end being a teacher. I once heard someone say i now have $40,000 worth of information, so im hoping to use it through out life. I have been teaching grade 2 for the last year and grade 1 before that. I just love the little ones, they have so much to learn.

Now I wanted to travel. I have been applying for positions in the UK and US to teach just to be able to travel the world… and as God would have it, i was googling trips and just happened to come across THE WORLD RACE. As soon as i saw it i was like I have to apply!. God has perfect timing as the organisation was considering branching out to Australia and New Zealand.

My favourite TV programme is the Amazing Race and i’ve always wanted to be a part of that. Now here i am trying to raise funds to start my own amazing race.
