Well hey there!

I’m so glad you found your way to my little ole blog! Before we begin on this adventure together, first let me introduce myself.

My name is Patricia, I’m 21 years young, and I’ve lived most of my life in Texas; home of the Alamo, the best barbecue, 110+ degree temps, and some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

My story begins in 2000, when a blonde headed, blued eyed girl got on her knees in her church’s prayer room, and asked a really big God to come inside a really little girl’s heart. Fast forward to her 10 year old self, sitting in church, listening to a kids choir from some country in Africa (give her a break, she was only 10), and God telling her that her dreams of becoming a cowgirl would now be replaced with dreams of working in an orphanage in Africa one day. She started going on mission trips when she was in the fifth grade, and never stopped. She had a lot of bumps and potholes in her life, from insecurity, to her parent’s divorce, to deep depression, to fierce anger. She struggled for a few years to hold onto God’s view of her, but after help from people she loved, and other people she grew to love, her anger and depression were replaced with a joy so deep, she couldn’t stop smiling, and never has. She graduated high school with her goal to tackle college, and then move to a country in Africa permanently. That’s when God stepped in, and reminded that strong-willed, take charge, type A personality, young woman that He was the one in control, and He had a different way of doing things. She spent her next two years going to school at the community college, with international mission trips during the summers. This past year, she continued at the community college, and also went on another, and very important, mission trip. While she was there, one of her teammates really encouraged her to consider participating in something called The World Race. She had heard of The World Race years before, and then that past summer, but had put it on the back burner in her mind. Over the next few months, many of her friends and co-workers urged her to consider applying to this. After a butt load of prayer, she half-heartedly started the application process, convinced that she wouldn’t be accepted. As the process continued and deepened, she realized that this was what God had been preparing her for over the last few years, and she became excited about what God was going to do with her through The World Race. Whelp, she was accepted, and now she’s here, writing this blog to tell you all about it.

Would you like to take this adventure with her? I sure would love for you to…
