After an 8-hour flight, then a 12-hour flight, then a 13-hour bus ride we arrived in Cape Town, South Africa! I really never thought I would be in a place like this, mountains, ocean, penguins, and an awesome mix of people from all over the place!
Some highlights of the trip so far.
When we arrived at Cape Town, a man who was struggling with alcoholism approached two of the guys from the squad and I and began talking with us. We really couldn’t have much of a conversation with him, but I was able to just hug the man for a few minutes and speak truth over him! He was holding onto me with all he had, and I could tell that God was moving in him!
Today we took a long walk into the nearby town to use the Internet and just check out this beautiful place.
On the walk we met a family who found a penguin while walking on the beach that was tangled up in some stuff. They had freed the little guy and we were able to hold him for a bit! It was pretty awesome!
Tomorrow we are headed to a Hillsong church here in Cape Town! It should be some awesome worship!
As a squad leader I will be traveling in-between the six teams that form x-squad every week or so. This week the team I am with will be working to help men and women in a drug rehabilitation program.
