So we finally found an Internet Cafe here in Ghana! We have been out of contact since we arrived last week, but the Lord has had so much for us during the past week!
Going into the Worldrace I of course had many prayers and many prayers answered! I’m here-that is an answer to prayer! But three specific prayer requests were all answered during this past week; I wanted to baptize someone and to preach a sermon…last Sunday I did both! I preached my first ‘official’ sermon written by me and inspired by the Lord and then later that afternoon we had a baptism for Kelli, a member of my team, and for several Ghanians who wanted to be baptized as well! We performed a full immersion baptism right out in the ocean!! Fighting the undercurrent and the waves made it interesting, but there was so much joy in those moments for the people being baptized and for myself and two answered prayers in one day!!
A few days later we were out evangelizing, and its good to know that evangelizing is one of my spiritual gifts, but still it takes courage and dependence on the Lord. Well that day started off slow, but we continued along the beach and talked to a group of women. They already knew Jesus but we prayed and spoke with them and encouraged them for a few minutes, it was a blessing. That being said I knew the Lord wanted me to go ‘get the men’. So I prayed, Lord help me go get the men. He lead us to two fishermen mending their nets..oh yeah right out of the Bible!! We shared the gospel with them and they both chose to accept Christ!!
We’re not done yet, after we prayed with those men we continued down the beach to a hut with a group of fishermen sleeping underneath it. We spoke to the two bosses’, two brothers who had hired all the fishermen in the area, and they woke everyone up in order to listen to us speak. We shared the gospel with them and about 17 men there chose to accept Christ!! My first ‘mass conversion’ experience!!
The Lord didn’t have to answer my prayers and I still would be having a great ‘mission trip’ but the Lord wants to bless me and you!! He answered my prayers and expect more opportunities to preach, baptize, and experience the incredible experience of seeing a mass of men raise their hands and say ‘Today I chose Christ!’
