I was raised in Alto, Michigan, a small farming town outside of Grand Rapids. I am from what you would call a “Hick Town”, and people often times refer to me as a hillbilly or redneck. I have to say my heart is definately in the country. I have almost always driven a truck, i love working on cars, NASCAR, country music, and sports. I went to a public high school with a plentiful supply of all of those things. I was a two sport varsity athlete, and although all of my friends drank and smoked, I never really had the urge to do those things. When I graduated I went on a 2 week missions trip to mexico, which was my first time out of the country. I attended Cornerstone University for two years, working construction in the summers. Towards the end of my second year at Cornerstone, I felt the urge to move away from home, partly because of a desire to pursue a career in competitive bodybuilding, and partly because God was slowly calling me away from the life I had built in Grand Rapids. So I decided to go to Southeastern College (now University) in Lakeland, Florida. God opened the doors necessary for me to go, and along with a litte help from my admissions counselor and future wife, Myla, I came down and have now lived here for the last two years. I have about a year to go to finish my pre-med degree, and after this trip, I’m not exactly sure where God is leading us. I will have a degree in the health care field, and i have a love for investments, so I do have a small amount of refinement.
