We arrived to Malaysia! I am with a new team: Baily, Gaby, Grace, Rachel, Nik, and Ryan. We are currently staying in Kuala Lipis, but we will occasionally visit Gua Musang. Our Ministry is to teach at school. We primarily teach English, but will possibly teach creative arts as well. This ministry is special though, because we will not be talking about God at all.
This is because of the strong Islamic influence here. I still call it a ministry because we will show them the love of Christ through the way we present ourselves. Because we cannot directly talk about God, I feel like this is a way for God to show up in a big and incredible way. There is no possible way for me to take credit or belittle God at all when he does something miraculous, by saying that it was because of me. It gives me a chance to give God the mic and let him take lead. I also have a lot of downtime, which brings me to my word for this upcoming year… Discipline!
I have made a commitment to really dive deep into the word of God and to pray every day. I am going to create habits that will influence the rest of my life. I really feel like God is going to reveal new things I could only understand from soaking in Him. I know He is going to reveal Himself in such a big way through just reading and praying. He has already given me a supernatural joy!
Please continue to pray for me. This is one of the most uncomfortable environments I have ever been in. Thank you to everyone who comments, prays, and sends me encouraging words. You have all been such a huge help to me in this race!
