After a wonderful 4 day debrief in Guatemala, teams Pi, Kietara, and 5 Alive bussed down through El Salvador and Honduras to make it to Nicaragua (and, it was only a 14 hour bus ride!). We were supposed to be in Granada, Nicaragua for 2 days before separating to our different ministry locations, but due to early arrival, team Pi stayed for 4 nights. At first I was a little bummed because we had just finished debrief and I was pumped to start our first full month of ministry. Granada was wonderful, but I didnt really want to stay for 4 days. Its crazy how the Lord works though. The time we spent in Granada was absolutely wonderful. We were able to meet up with an AIM missionary, Charles, and his wife, Sarah, as well as their children. Also, volunteering under their ministry was a past teammate, Brandi, and another volunteer, Heather. It was refreshing to be able to spend time briefly with all of them and to be encouraged by the work the Lord is doing through them. We also had the chance to meet up with a team of highschoolers from the states and were able to share about the World Race and our stories with them. Then, on our final night in Granada, after I had beat Josh in our ping pong tournament, we ended up meeting 3 Americans in the cafe we were at and had a great conversation about life and the Lord and why we were on the World Race. God just kept putting oppertunity after oppertunity infront of us to be used by Him.
Every day I am falling more and more in love with how the Lord works. He knows the paths we are going to take and has planned it all out. I dont know why I continually have to be reminded of that, but luckily we have a Father who is patient. I am excited for the future adventures of this year and how the Lord is going to continually work through the situations that I would never imagine.
