Hello to you all! I’m posting my support letter here for anyone who may not have received it in the mail (I’d be happy to send you one, please provide your contact info). I pray you enjoy the read because it was fun to write, all the while knowing I have a most awesome crowd of supporters on the receiving end.
Dear family and friends,
On September 22, 2010, I acknowledged the invitation to come to Jesus and whole heartedly accepted. His love began to heal my brokenness, and with this deliverance, I have been strengthened and renewed in preparation to be poured out in service to others. I write to share with you His new invitation for which I have been accepted: I am soon to be a World Racer! In January 2016, I will be entering the mission field. Where will I be going? Global! I am going to serve the peoples of Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Albania, Nepal, India, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia. As you can see with this list of nations spanning 3 continents, the World Race is a radical program. Adventures in Missions is the nonprofit organization that created this opportunity like no other to go to 11 countries in 11 months. The World Race mission program calls forth young adults to give up the “American dream,” to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle for the God-given dream to minister to the needs of those around the world that are hurting and lost. I will be going to share the good news of Christ and to represent that good news by being a helping hand and heart for children in orphanages, the sick in hospitals, and those needing not only shelter, food, and friendship, but the restorative love of the Father. My team and I will be doing a variety of service projects as ambassadors for Christ. I will be carrying the light of my life to some of the world’s darkest places!
You are receiving this letter because you are an awesome addition to the story of my life–you have blessed me with your love and friendship. Thank you. I invite you to be a part of my upcoming journey too! I am asking for prayer coverage and financial support. My team and I will face many challenges on the mission field, and for that I have included a preliminary prayer list–we will need lots of prayer. I also need your help to raise $16,800.00, which will cover all of my expenses for the 11 months of the mission. Any contributions you make will help me take my leap of faith come January. A friend of mine recently asked how many Facebook friends I had, and with my reply of 168, she said that if each donates $100, then I would be set! Now that’s some easy math, but I realize that everyone has a unique contribution to make, and I will be blessed by whatever you choose to do, even if that’s just an abundance of prayer. However, I invite you to share in this ministry effort; if you choose to financially support me I have enclosed a response card.
