About Me
I was born in Opelika, Alabama and raised by my parents in a small community a few miles from there. Growing up I always had knowledge of who God is and faithfully attended church services each week with my uncle, who is a pastor. As I got older I realized that there was something missing in my life. I began attending church with a friend and found what I never had before. I found a sense of community with people my own age. I began to attend church with my friend and eventually became a member. For a period of about two years I was at church every time the door was opened. However, life got in the way. I was working full- time and eventually just stopped attending church. For six years of my life I turned my back on God and followed my own path.
One Sunday morning in 2002 that all changed. I was visiting friends in the same church where I was once a member and God got a hold on my heart. For the first time in my life I realized how much I really needed a relationship with Christ. I gave my heart to Christ that morning and my life has not been the same since!
The summer of 2002 provided the first opportunity for me to be a part of a mission team. A group from my church went to Mexico and when I returned I knew God was calling me into full time missions. As preparation for this call I attended Asbury College where I was a Missions major.
So that is a general idea of my life so far. I thought it would be fun to add some random things about me so you can know me better. So here are just a few: I love to cook! I especially like to cook southern style food that is not good for you but taste so good. This is one of the ways I show my love for others. I am absolutely crazy about Alabama football!! Roll Tide Roll!! I like to stare at the sky especially early morning or evening when the sun light plays with the clouds. Sharing quality time with friends and family are some of my favorite things. Oh yeah, and I think Sunday afternoon naps are the greatest!! I am sure there are many more random things but those are all I can think of now. You just have to get to know me for the rest.
