This is what making yourself at home in an airport looks like when you have a 22 hour layover and are traveling with 54 people!
Our ministry partners for the month have created an awesome soccer ministry for the local street kids. On Wednesday mornings our squad had an opportunity to play with and provide a meal to the children.
Most of our ministry this month was evangelism in various areas of the city. This was the first time I’d ever openly shared the gospel with non-believers and felt very stretched in new areas of my faith this month. As we walked down the street in the slums, the woman in the picture below noticed that I was an amputee and called us over to her. Oddly enough, her curiosity about my missing hand led us to a conversation about how God has created us uniquely and loves us equally.
I fell in love with this one room school house in the slums.
While ministering in the slums we were invited into this families home for tea and biscuits. As I looked around there one room home I felt so humbled that they had invited my teammate and I in for tea and conversation.
My squad mate, Rachel Zerby, and I had an opportunity to use our passions for painting to bring some life to a school computer lab.
Midway through the month my teammate, Laura, felt that the Lord was calling her home to pursue another path. Our squad was incredibly sad to see her and her bubbly personality go home. We wish her all the best in what comes next!
For our final weekend in Nepal, Team Restore Amor traveled to a tiny mountain village called Nagarkot. This place had breath-taking views of the Himalayas and really did feel like a special place at the end of the world. It was the perfect way to cap off the month!
