Hello Family and Friends!
I’m writing you to let you know about some new things that are happening in my life. In December I graduated from UNC with my degree in Elementary Education. I’m excited to pursue a career in teaching; however, my heart is currently being lead down a different path. A few months ago, I felt anxious and unfulfilled by the idea of a fall teaching position and was worried that I had chosen the wrong career path. As I prayed for direction, I realized that these feeling were God temporarily redirecting my path towards missionary work. I’ve decided to spend my 2015 year embracing and sharing Christ’s love on The World Race.
The World Race is a Christian mission trip through a non-profit organization called Adventures in Missions (AIM). It’s an 11-month journey to 11 different countries. Through adventure, ministry, community, and love for people all over the world, World Racers are given the opportunity to act for God’s kingdom around the globe. I am scheduled to leave in January 2015 and will be working for a month in each of the following countries: India, Nepal, South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Latvia, Estonia, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, and Vietnam. My team and I will be partnering with local churches and ministries to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, teach in classrooms and bring the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
Asking for help has never come easily to me but in order to be successful with this endeavor I must humbly ask for your support. First, and foremost, I ask for your prayers and positive wishes. I know that this journey will be incredibly rewarding but I am nervous for the ways it will challenge me and place me out of my comfort zone. I’m asking for your prayers of strength and safety for my teammates and myself in our travels. The support of my friends and family means everything to me. I want to share this experience with you.
Second, I ask that consider partnering with me financially. Unfortunately this opportunity to serve comes with a price tag that is more than I can personally take on. In order to go on the World Race I must raise $15,500. This will cover my field expenses (travel, food, and lodging) over the 11 months of my mission. As I take this large step of faith and trust the Lord’s plan, would you prayerfully consider joining me with a monthly or one-time donation?
In deciding to join The World Race I feel that God is asking me to surrender everything and trust in His plan. I invite you to follow me on this journey by following my race blog: www.paigespiegelberg.theworldrace.org
I look forward to sharing stories and photos with you of this experience.
Thank you in advance for your support and care. I cannot do this with out you!
With Love,
Paige
