Good-byes suck, plain and simple. Saying good-bye to my home for the past three years, where I did a lot of growing up and finding myself, was not easy. I came here chasing the sun, with a feeling that the Lord was calling me to school here for a reason. He then blessed me beyond what I could have ever imagined, but now it’s time to say “adios.”
I am excited about my new job back in Nebraska for sure, but that doesn’t make saying good-bye to people any easier, especially when these are some of the faces I said good-bye to this morning:
To everyone in Florida, thank you! Each of you has touched my life in big and little ways and in ways you probably didn’t even realize. Thank you for your friendship, for letting me love on your kiddos, for allowing me to be me and encouraging me to be better, and for everything else in between. The list of names and thank you’s could go on for days with each and every one of you that I love so much, but for the sake of attention spans I will send those personally 😉 I will be forever shaped by what happened these past three years.
It’s been real. It’s been fun. And it’s been real fun, Florida. Until next time.
