Well I've just started to get the ball rolling with all my WR jazz. That means I'm trying to get all my support info ready and in order, so I want all you blog followers to be on the look out for that! But also, that means I'm doing a lot of research online about everything you could imagine. Country climates, immunizations, insurance, plane tickets, and most importantly, GEAR. And let me tell you, there is an endless amount of details you could possibly know about gear. There is so much stuff. I walked into REI once and literally gasped at the amount of things that exsist on that store. A little overwhelmed for a backpacking newbie like myself.

I'm lucky to have an incredible friend in my life, Gabby, who happens to be an amatuer camping expert. She's given me some great tips on what brands are most reliable, her past fails with products, etc. But the best advice she's given me is this: you can register at REI for gifts. My response to this was, "WHAT?! I thought you had to be engaged to register for anything…" But you don't! The great thing about registering at REI is that you can do it for any reason. When the manager asked me why I was registering I said, "I'm going on an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries." He looked at me, astonished, and said, "Good for you. You're definitely going to need this then!" I went to REI and had some fun with the scanner registering for items that will be essential to my trip. This is a great way to help me get some of the important big ticket items or to get something small if some aren't able to go quite so big. So without further adieu, my REI registry!

You can go online to my registry, pick out any items, purchase them, and they will ship right to me!  I've researched all the products on my list and found that they are the best options for me and my specific trip. I will be putting this link in my about me section so you can access it at anytime. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask me! Thank you Gabby for showing me that unengaged adventurers can benefit from registering for gifts!
