“Teacher, Teacher!”

This is the phrase I hear come from my students, everyday.  It is awesome to see the Fathers work in my life these last few months.  I have nothing but praise to the King.  God is revealing a part of my heart that He wants to use in the future.  In other words, He is showing me a desire in my heart that I didn’t even know was there.

Teaching.

I got a little taste of it while I was in Malaysia.  We got the opportunity to teach a few times a week.  After that month, I realized there was a slight interest in my heart to teaching young ones.  I have never thought of teaching before in my life.  I didn’t even realize that I enjoyed it so much.  So in Malaysia God allowed me to realize this desire.

God just makes me smile.  This month He brought me to a school in Cambodia, and said, “Give it a go.”  It was a little overwhelming at first.  I showed up to my first class expecting to be an assistant, perhaps just helping out, when I was pushed in front of 20 kids with a translator saying, “There all yours.”

I have had experience this month with planning lessons, teaching and leading 6 classes everyday.  It has been awesome!  I am getting so much experience. At first I didn’t feel qualified to be teaching because I don’t have any previous training.  I am learning that you really don’t need a college degree to teach, I have been teaching all month.  I also realize that I love children so much.  They have captured a large part of my heart.

I am seriously considering teaching as a future career.  I will continue praying about it.  I am just so glad God is revealing these desires to me.  It has been such a long time, I have been praying God would show me what He wanted for my life and I believe little by little He is showing me.  I am praising Him for it.  If I wouldn’t have come on this trip, I wouldn’t have ever known I enjoy teaching so much.

I have also learned and gained a lot of respect for teachers.  If you are a teacher, thank you for all you do.  I think teachers are slightly looked over sometimes.  They really do a lot.  I also realized they put a lot of time and energy into there work.  It isn’t an easy thing, by Friday I am wiped out!

One thing I know for sure, I want to go to school when I get back to the States.  (A.k.a. College!)

Thank you all for your prayers!  Praise the Lord for good health! We have a wonderful cook who prepares our food for us making sure it is clean.  I have not felt ill once yet.

Love you all!!

Love,
Paige
