Since I have a significant number of new people viewing my blog (HI!) and I realized that if you did not receive one of my fundraising letters there may be some logistical information you don’t know, I decided to make this blog all about the DETS.

What: The World Race. A Christian mission trip and discipleship program run by Adventures in Missions sending individuals ages 21-35 to 11 countries in 11 months. I will be traveling for 11 months with nothing but a backpack (a really, really big one) on my back. You can check out their website if you’re interested in knowing more.

When: I will be attending Training Camp in Georgia on June 8-18. Launch is set for the weekend of August 5/6 and I will be returning in July of 2017.

With who: I will get to travel to each country with a squad of 50-60 people (shout out to my August 2016 Route 1 squad) and we will then be divided up into teams of 5-7 to do ministry.

Where: This route will take me to Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. To get a glimpse at the specific problems in each nation, check out this link.

Why: Have you ever felt like you were literally created to do something? For five years I’ve had this itch in my soul to go: to travel, to do missions, to do something useful with my life. And over those 5 years I learned a tremendous amount about patience as God told me to wait. God’s timing is perfect and beyond anything I could ever imagine. I never dreamed that I would be called to travel to 11 countries in less than a year. Yet here I am, stoked beyond belief and oh so ready to go.

I would love for you to partner with me in my journey. You can do so in a variety of ways:

  • subscribe to and share my blog
  • clicking the support me tab to provide a one-time or monthly donation
  • buy a t-shirt
  • purchase much needed gear off of my REI wishlist
  • PRAY

Thank you for all your love and support! If you ever have questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
