Fundraising:
So far, I’m 27% funded! To be done with a quarter of my funding is relieving. I typically focus on the positive and I continue to do so but occasionally I forget to focus. I start to get overwhelmed by thinking of the 73% that still needs come in.
Seventy-three is so much greater than twenty-seven!
I cycle through the same thoughts: do I know enough people to get funded? Will people fund me? When will people fund me? I just want to be fully funded YESTERDAY.
I am learning to pause, quiet my thoughts, and wait patiently.
Life does not revolve around my time. I'm not the one with perfect timing.
I see how I'm growing. I stop freaking out and then find rest in God’s provision.

Tomorrow (November 11) is World Race Day. I’ve been fundraising for people to prayerfully consider giving $11. I’m excited to see how God provides through this. I’m going into tomorrow trying to not have expectations and an open heart to whatever God wants.
What keeps me going is God and how He is using people’s words to move my heart. All the support and encouragement is moving. Knowing that people are praying for me all the time is the best feeling in the world. I couldn’t ask for more.
Thank you all for everything. I can’t even begin to express the gratitude I have for everyone.
Sarah and the women of Belton:

“But a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
This weekend, I was surrounded by a group of young women who I identify as woman who fear the Lord.
From deep in my heart, I cry out to everyone that community, true and sincere, exists and if you don’t have it, seek it out!
The women that I was surrounded by are friends. They are silly and they like to have fun. As they joke around, they love one another. They support each other. They put the other before oneself. They are not an exclusive group and on the contrary, I saw their love for everyone but at the end of the day, they find each other to refuel and relax.
What is community?
Community is a group of people with a common thread. These ladies are all unique but their common thread is love. Love for one another but love that can only come from the One who first loved them. From this love stems honesty and vulnerability.
Everyone has community but do you have a community that refines you into a better person?
I’ve been blessed to experience this kind of community in high school and it changed my life.
My friend Sarah competed in a pageant held by her school this weekend. I’ve known Sarah since junior high. She is a dear friend and was brave to share her heart in front of her peers. Her platform was community and discipleship on campus.
She has inspired me to build community like the one we had in high school. Similar to the community she has now where you intentionally invest.
It can’t be replicated. It is irreplaceable. However, I will use it as an example of what is possible.
It all starts with love. I spent the entire weekend with Sarah and her friends. I had many great conversations and from each one, there was just an overflow of love for me. I was a stranger to them but that didn’t matter.
“You choose to love.”
Thank you girls for reminding me of what real community looks like.
Thanksgiving:
TURKEY DAY IN TEXAS!
After missing three years of Thanksgiving at home, I am finally not going to a potluck dinner and instead, I'll be enjoying the holidays with family.
I’ve enjoyed my past few Thanksgivings but nothing beats family time and my mom's homemade everything! Yes, I love Thanksgiving enough to make it a part of World Race blog.
I am thankful for holidays with family.
That is all.
