Costa Rica bound!!

…well almost.

So we have finished all our training and are now at the airport… patiently waiting(or learning to).

Turns out we can’t fly into Costa Rica because we have no proof we are leaving Costa Rica.  So we are learning to wait patiently for our first time [out of many] as things don’t go quite as planned.  We learn to wait and allow our amazing logistics leaders the time and space they need to find out more information and lead us to our next steps. (One of the many roles of logistics leaders is getting us from one country to the next.)

So as I’m laying down on the airport floor at 4:45 in the morning, I’m reminded of scripture that I came across the night before at the end of Joshua 21. The scripture talks about how God fulfilled every good promise to Israel, He gave them rest, and gave their enemies into their hands.

For a short moment after finding out that “our” plans were going wrong, worry, uncertainty, and doubt tried to fill my mind. I was reminded that those things in scripture are still true today. God’s plans and promises are always fulfilled, and we have rest in knowing the enemy’s intentions will not prosper.

Not getting through the airport with ease isn’t going to stop God’s plan.

In addition to not being able to check in as smoothly as we hoped, we had a few more setbacks. Needless to say in the end we all ended up making it through the airport safely and on time.  On top of that our logistics leaders got to learn something that would have been much more difficult to resolve had we been in another country.

Through this next year I know there will be many set backs or things that don’t go as planned.  I pray that in those times I can be reminded that I can have rest when I find peace in knowing that God has delivered the enemy into our hands and that He has and will fulfill every good promise in His plan. That I won’t be stressed or worried when “my” plans don’t succeed, but that I can lean on His plan and put my trust in Him.
