“And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
Hebrews 12:1
My dearest friends and family,
As some of you may know, this past August I successfully completed my welding apprenticeship. With this accomplishment under my belt, I am ready to move forward to a calling that has been on my heart for a couple of years now.
I have recently been accepted to participate in my first ever World Race! This January, myself and 300 fellow World Racers will be launching from Atlanta, Georgia for an 11 month mission trip. At this point you are probably thinking to yourself, “So she’s going to run around the world for 11 months?” My answer to that is “no”. Allow me to explain.
A World Race is a Christian program which is run through AIM (Adventures in Missions). For 11 months I will have the opportunity to travel and serve in 11 different countries. One country per month. These countries include:
Peru Bolivia Ecuador
India Malaysia Malawi
Zambia Nepal Vietnam
Cambodia Thailand
One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip, but an intensive discipleship program as well. It will teach us to live in Community as well as put ourselves second. Through the World Race, my team (total 5 ladies) and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and display the amazing love of Jesus Christ. All accomplished while living only out of a backpack and sleeping wherever we can pitch our tents.
I am truly thrilled to go on this adventure! For the past couple years, God has put a huge passion in my heart for seeing the different norms cultures have. This passion also exists in building up woman to live a life that isn’t restricted because of their gender. While I am away, prayers would be incredibly appreciated for safety, health, relationships with my team and the nations, selflessness, and to see God MOVE!
The total cost of my trip is approximately $16 250 USD, which works out to roughly $17 800 CAD. If you would like to contribute towards my adventure for God, it would be greatly appreciated. Every dollar received will be invested into blessing the nations. Unfortunately, because AIM is an American based program, I am unable to provide tax deductible receipts for Canadians. *For donation details see next page.
While I am in the field I will be keeping a Blog. I encourage you to check it out as often as you can! It is there that I will be posting all of my latest updates, praise reports, and prayer requests. Follow me at oliviamaksymchuk.theworldrace.org
Also, I encourage you to email me at [email protected] or Facebook message me at any time during the race! A simple hello or encouragement can go a long way when you are away from home for so long!
If for any reason you would like to contact me at all before I launch (January), feel free to call or text me at 1(780) 978-2807.
Thank you so very much. Yours Truly,
Olivia Maksymchuk
