As a nurse, my heart beats to see people healed. It beats to see people smile again. It beats to see people live again.



Something that has been on my heart the last couple days is my new friend Ivo. Ivo is a very gifted athlete, incredible drum player, and a strong yet compassionate soul with the other teens and younger children. He is very alive in Christ.

Through conversation one day he revealed to me that his mom had uterine cancer. Because his family does not have the money they need for the surgical procedure to resect the mass (which they told me is very small and has not metastasized anywhere else), they are doing chemo and radiation. These two options are overall unhealthy for the whole body. When I asked how much the surgery would cost, they said “$2,000”.

$2,000 for an entire surgery to save someone’s life?! Wow.

 

So… fellow believers, followers, and lovers of humanity – I am presenting to you an opportunity to give…. So little- for SO MUCH.
