After a fun day of traveling up and through the Andes mountains,

we have arrived in Postervialle….which means

‘The Valley Beyond’.

As we pull up in the dark drive way and the headlights reveal our arrival, children come running from every direction to greet us. From ninos’ as young as two years of age, to chicas’ as old as fourteen, all come without hesitation. As I step out of the truck into the chilly air, I catch glimpse of the beautiful large beautiful home which accommodates all the thirty children here. Have you every seen the movie Heidi? This place reminds me of that kind of countryside.

We quickly make our way inside to have dinner with the kids. Its a warm, salty soup with some sort of grain…barley maybe? Learning ALL the new names is somewhat overwhelming, but we make a game out of it during our meal.

Directed by our contact Andrew, the children introduce themselves family by family. Like I said before, the Nacer Postervialle home is specifically for siblings….siblings who are not wanted, have been abused, or those whose parents are not able or willing to care for them. One of the groups is made up of 7 brothers and sisters who have been at the home for 4 years. I sit there surrounded by many stories like this, unable to wrap my head around how anyone could not want these beautiful children.

Each of their faces point to a story…and I long to know more.

I am so excited to be here. The children are beyond precious, and I am beginning to see why everyone speaks of the ‘special kind of humbleness’ that they possess. I can’t fully understand what their lives have been like, but I am ready to love on them and share with them the power, grace, and faithfulness of our God….

….because He knows the ins and outs of their stories.

This month some of our ministry will (supposedly )consist of :

-Doing morning devotions for the kids

-Assisting in getting them ready for school

-Giving the home a new paint job and a good cleaning

-Retrieving gravel from the local river to pave the mud paths to the home

-Sharing our testimonies at the local church

-Doing chores with the kids

and who knows what else God will do through us!

We’re Ready.

P.S. HERE IS A SNEAK PEAK INTO OUR HOME THIS MONTH =)

HOME SWEET HOME!!!
