What up guys!! My name is Olivia Bourgeois, or O-Dawg, as many friends and family have called me for years now. If you know me, the nickname makes sense. I am currently a senior at Louisiana State University in the Athletic Training program. (GEAUX TIGERS!) My 17 years of school will finally be done in May when I GRADUATE!!! I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and have lived here my whole life. However, all of that will change when I spend next year traveling to 11 countries in 11 months!! As scary as this may seem at first, I know it will be the most challenging, impactful, and life-changing year of my life. The Lord placed World Race on my heart about two years ago and it has not left my mind since. Now, the time is finally here to begin this new chapter of life that The Lord has for me. Here’s 11 fun facts about me first, before you decide to join me on this journey:
1. You seriously can call me O-Dawg, it sounds weird when you call me Olivia.
2. I can be really country at time, but other times my “ghetto” side comes out.
3. I love to write raps for people.
4. I love to run. I’m not the fastest, but going on runs with friends is one of my favorite things. It’s the perfect way to build relationships while improving your health at the same time!
5. I am cajun french and I’m proud of it. I love my roots and family reunions are never boring. Everyone gathers round singing cajun music while playing the accordion, spoons, and washboard.
6. Breaking out in random song/ dance always makes life better.
7. If I was allowed an exotic pet, it would be an iguana.
8. I am not a picky eater at all and will try anything.
9. I love to rollerblade and wish I had more time for it.
10. My family is the greatest. We’re cooky and crazy at times, but that’s what makes us family and I don’t know what I’d do without them!
11. I am a daughter of Christ and live to serve Him.
The Lord has done so much in these last 21 years of life. The struggles I’ve had, miracles He’s done, and lessons I’ve learned are all coming together now. He has revealed to me that the relationships, conversations, and circumstances in my life have all made me who I am today. They have shaped and molded me into the daughter of Christ that I am. Even though I still have much more to learn, I know He is always with me and will be with me every step of the way. I am ready to go on this journey to serve and love the least of these. I am ready to know what it feels like to live out of a backpack and live without my earthly comforts. I am ready to live life with others who are on the same mission as I am. I am ready to fully rely on Christ. [Hebrews 12:1]
Please consider being a part of this journey. I cannot do this without your support, financially and prayerfully. I first ask for your prayers, starting now. Pray for my heart as I am preparing for my mission and that I don’t miss opportunities still here in America. Pray for my future team. Pray for my countries. I also ask that you consider supporting me financially. I have to raise $16,285 and need your help. The easiest way is to click the Support Me tab on the left side of the screen. Thank you so much for reading and supporting me! Please subscribe to get new blog updates!
