Chum riep sueh (Hello) from Cambodia ๐
Time for updates now on the AIM Cambodia long term ministry.
Well, to put it simply…Cambodia, and this ministry, has captured me.
I signed up to go to Cambodia because I had a strong call in my heart to just go. God just said GO! And so here I am.
Well, now that I’m here, I can’t even really explain fully how captured my heart has become.
It’s a joyful thing. But it’s also one of the most humbling experiences I’ve had.
I’m stirred
The problems and pain in this country (one of the worst I’ve ever seen), in the women, children, and men, break my heart.
The issues stir me. The problem with the men stir me. The horrific pain of the women stir me. Tears! The long term plan, stirred!
And the team of 10 missionary ladies here have also been such a moving experience in who they are.
What they are doing is so courageous. And who they are is equally so amazing.
4 of them have been here for a year. 6 more have just joined for their 2 year or longer commitment.
10 young American women.
Courage. Strength. Love. Service.
Modern day Abolitionists.
Lots more to share, but for now…know there has been strategic planning meetings (actually lots of them – tiring but SO encouraging), brainstorming sessions, debriefs, one-on-one’s, prayer and worship, history teachings, ministry partner meetings, and much more.
We started in Siem Reap 5 days ago, and have a few more days here in Phnom Penh. I’ll post more blogs on the team, who they are, yeah!!! And the work going on here.
Please pray for these next few days. In joining the two teams, and in setting them all up for their impact here.
I’m somewhat still speechless.
