God see’s things differently than I do.

I see things through my own world view, experiences, and surroundings.

But I pray to Him often that I can see things through His eyes.

My eyes are earthly,

His eyes are heavenly.

What do I mean?

I think of when I was in Kenya. For 30 days I would walk outside our ministry
apartment across the road and look out over the fence. What was I looking at?  One of the world’s largest community’s of poverty: the Kibera slums. Hunger, over crowdedness, tin roofs, mud
walls, no running water, disease. That’s what I saw.

I think of the girls home in Nepal. 15 girls living
together, taking care of each other. Their parent(s) are

in
jail. They were abandoned or given up.  They live together, go to school together, pray together, laugh
together, grow up together.

One evening, when I stood outside on the balcony upstairs, overlooking the awesome Himalaya’s, I started to strum my guitar, and make up a song in the spirit for them. My spirit sang to 1, then 2, then 3…. “Jesus loves you, he
is with you, he is guiding you…father, be their father, be their
guide, be their comfort, be their light…”  The girls slowly started
coming outside and just looking up to me, as I looked down to their
faces, looked in their eyes, and sang over them with the needed masculine, yet gentle, father’s touch.

I think to how my emotions of anger, confusion, and pain were all
stirred as I stood on the corner of a red-light district in Bangkok,
Thailand and watched as dozens of girls, dressed to ‘offer’ themselves,
were caught up in the horrible practice of prostitution, sex slavery,
abuse, and brokenness.

And what I realize now is that heaven’s eyes are different than my eyes.

What I see is not the only story, the end of the story.

I ask God to have the eyes that He has, that heaven has;

To look at this world with Kingdom eyes.

And you know what?

He grants me my request.

How do I know?

Because I know that what I’ve seen with my eyes in the past 1.5
years, in 100’s of cities, 100’s of homes, 1,000’s of
lives on this planet, was not so I could simply overstimulate my mind, eyes, and experiences.

No!

It was so I could ENCOUNTER with my eyes…..move BEYOND my vision…and INTO His.

It was so I could see HIS VISION, not merely my own.

So when I think of the Kibera slums, I don’t just see a famous poverty
community in Africa….I see HIS VISION, his eyes of healing, protection, and hope. And so I pray, pray for protection of the little kids who run
around at night in Kibera with no electricity in the town to be kept safe from
being beaten, from rape, from any harm.

So when I think of the girls home in Nepal, I see HIS VISION. I pray that they can be
discipled into confident, strong, loving, and caring women of God. And
that they know tonight as they go to bed that they don’t let the
abandonment of their earthly father birth resentment towards God, but
that their true ‘father’ is watching over them. And, I sing for them. I
pick up my guitar, here in my room, and play for them, as we sang 6 months ago, as God sings over them every night.

So when I think of the girls that are so horribly trapped in the
sex slavery lifestyle in Thailand, I see HIS VISION that the abuse will stop. “Father,
please stop the abuse. Today, let a girl go to She Ministries and let
her heart be touched with your love, your perfect love, so she doesn’t
have to go out and work again tonight. Healing, wholeness, and pure love runs through your veins. It’s running through their veins now too, I can see it!”

Heavenly eyes is what I live with now.
Heavenly eyes sometimes don’t let me sleep, because there’s one more person to pray for.
Heavenly eyes make watching Blood Diamond more real than a simple Hollywood movie.
Heavenly eyes bring compassion, tears, righteous anger.
Heavenly eyes is the answer.
Because with heavenly eyes, I don’t just see the poverty, see
the abandoned daughter, see the broken girl…I see healed eyes, I see fed
kids smiling and playing, I see a little girl free from the bondages of sexual evil. I see YOU….I see ME….carrying out His vision. Kingdom here on earth!

With heavenly eyes, I see faith, hope, love.

I’m glad my own eyes are not the only reality out there.

The reality of heaven
of God almighty,
his kingdom,
is as real as the words you are reading right now.

Kingdom!
His eyes,
His vision,
His touch,
KINGDOM!!!
Are you ready to be kingdom?

Part 2 coming soon…
