Thank you God for…
Esther,
our home host in Kenya:
For our long walk up to the church,
and being able to see Your strength in her, as she coped with being
crippled in one leg. Lord, she limped using a metal cane, on the
side of the gravel road, with cars speeding by inches within hitting
her arm. Thank you for allowing me to walk for this 30 minutes with
her, for hearing her story. Please heal her, God. If not a healing,
please bless her life.

Frank,
for giving his bed up to me:
I really appreciated sleeping on a
mattress and under a mosquito net for a few days. I just wish he
didn’t have to sleep on the floor next to me. But thank you for
letting me see his humble heart.

Madam Bonny:
For
her desire to end female genital mutilation in her Kenyan village.
For her skills as school principal.
For educating the girls, speaking to them, and teaching them how to
stand strong for what is good for them and to rely on God’s strength
for them.
Teachers and
Classrooms in Africa:
Thank you for my mom, who educates 6
year-olds in California, and for Mary, one of very few teachers who
educate hundreds of African elementary age students. Thank you for
this classroom, that was painted by prior missionaries. Please,
Lord, provide more books for their library. I know children love to
read.

Squatty Potty’s:
For a place to go to the bathroom.
Even though it’s not like home. 🙂
Beautiful Tanzanian
Churches:
For people going to their dirt floor
church, under tin roofs, held up by wood. Church is not about the
building, and I thank You for that.

Thank you, God, for
your presence in Africa.
