A couple great quotes from the Prince of Preachers.
"In many ways the great Head of the Church scatters His servants abroad; but they
ought of themselves to scatter voluntarily. Every Christian should say, “Where can
I do the most good?” and if he can do more good anywhere beneath the sun than in
the land of his birth, he is bound to go there, if he can. God will have us scattered;
and if we will not go afield willingly, He may use providential necessity as the forcible
means of our dispersion." C.H. Spurgeon
There is a prayer I mean to continue to offer until it is answered, that God would
pour out on this church a missionary spirit. I want to see our young men devoting
themselves to the work, some that will not be afraid to venture and preach Jesus
Christ in the regions beyond. C.H. Spurgeon
With that being said I never thought I would be a "missionary". The word has a lot of weight to it and responsibilty that I don't want to use losely. Being a missionary certainly dosen't mean you have it all together and that your perfect. It just means that God has placed in your heart the willingness to "go" . I am still human and I am still going to make mistakes and fall, but we are Gods plan A. There is no plan B. He choses to reveal Himself to the world through imperfect people. He ultimately used Jesus, the perfect, sinless sacrifice for ours sins. But now the scripture says "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God" 2 Cor. 5:20. What an honor and calling! So much more could be said about this and perhaps I will blog about it again but I am going to share a little about what I have done this past month in Nicaragua.
My team lived and served alongside Eliab Jarquin and his lovely family. Elaib was a pastor and just graduated from the Baptist Bible Institute of Nicaragua. He had his own church right in his house and we lived with him for most of the month. We had services 3 times a week and really enjoyed all the kids that would come. They would sit on our laps and just really seek our affection and friendship. Its very easy and dosen't take long to be come attached to these kids and they sure get attached to us.

Here we all stand in front of a building we painted at the Bible Institute that Eliab and Eliezer graduated from. This was the first week.

The second week we helped build a wall for another Baptist church in the area.
The thrid week we evangelized in different neighborhoods and then we all got the chance to speak several times in front of a few churches. We also put on kids programs for this week and got to share bible stories and just have fun with a bunch of kids.
