For the last 10 days I was in Georgia attending training camp for the WorldRace. You might be wondering what training camp is. Its an intense camping trip preparing you to live and serve God in other countries.

I’m not gonna lie, it was some of the hardest days of my life. We used port-a-potties, took cold bucket showers and slept outside in tents. On day 3, all that was going through my mind was, “Why am I here? Why am I doing this?” Not only was it mentally and spiritually exhausting, it was also physically tiring. I set up and took down my tent at least 20 times. I hiked 3 miles with my 34 lb backpack in less than 50 min! I was dripping sweat and dirt every day. Don’t get me started on the strange and gross food we had to eat. I got to try foods from Asia, Africa, Europe and I ate CRICKETS!! (Not my favorite)

Not everything was horrible. The most positive thing I received last week was experiencing a fresh relationship with God. The time I got to spend with Him was like no other. He showed me how to let go of my comforts and how to put all my trust in Him. I had to opportunity to open up and show my vulnerable side to some great people. God also worked in me to forgive people I thought I would never forgive.

And then there are the wonderful ladies (Yes, an all girls squad!) that are on “I” squad. There is 51 of us in total and during the week we all found out that we get to go to a bonus country! We are traveling to CAMBODIA, Thailand, Africa and Guatemala.

I loved meeting my team (6 of us) and with confidence I can say they are an amazing group of women who love the Lord with all their hearts. I am excited to be spending the next 9 months with them.

Meet my team: Lauren, Emily, Abby, Sarah, and Kate!
