There is a lady named Niccolas from the elderly center who constantly laughs. She will say something that I cannot understand and sometimes she is moving her lips and nothing comes out, but then she smiles and laughs. And when she laughs I laugh. It doesn’t matter what she is saying. Laughter is contagious!

When I feel the Holy Spirit I laugh. The Lord has blessed me with a joy that is overflowing. He fills me with joy and wants me to share it with others. He has done this back at home and he is continuing to fill me here. I was able to pray over one of the girls on my team, and I had a rush of the Holy Spirit and began laughing. She too began laughing. Laughter is contagious. When you are around someone who is smiling and laughing, you can’t help but join in. This is what happens with me. I believe when I feel the Holy Spirit the Lord has given me laughter in order to make it easier for others to join in and feel the Holy Spirit themselves. And experience his JOY! I am so glad the Lord has given me joy and laughter because I have always loved making people laugh! I love laughter! And I love smiling. I pass by people on the streets and smile at them. Smiling is also contagious and the two are universal. You do not need to speak the same language in order to laugh and smile.

Someone once told me, Jesus and I are going to have fun together and I fully believe that! There is never a dull moment with Jesus. Jesus is always around, however you have to want to tap into him. This is something that needs to be done daily. And it is worth it. It can be challenging at times, but when it does happen you won’t regret it.  When I do spend time with Jesus amazing things happen and I am filled with joy and peace.

“Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’ The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” Psalm 126:2-3

Smile at the people you pass. See what happens. You may get some looks, but when you smile at someone it makes them feel special and they will most likely pass it along.
