Doulos:
Greek for Slave or Bond-servant.
My favorite writer in the New Testament is Paul. I learn so much from him. I think God seriously met a man right where he was in life, showed him what was up and encountered him in such a way that he could not resist what God was all about. Paul became a slave. For some reason Paul saw it best to live his life with no rights. He no longer owned himself; He was marked. I’ve often had a weird feeling about calling myself a slave. The whole western mindset has influenced how I see it. By definition it does mean someone belongs to someone and they have no rights of their own. So I always thought it was interesting that Paul sometimes greets the church first by saying “Paul, servant of Christ Jesus…” or something to that effect.

(Team Kenya 2011)
New Testament uses ‘slave, or bond servant’, Doulos with the HIGHEST dignity.

I guess it’s fitting why Paul used it being that he was a son of the highest king.
As a daughter of the highest king I realized the past few months that I must always yield to what I want and chase after what the King wants. To be willing to live under his authority for all the days of my life. This yielding is taking me out to the nations again….

In about five weeks I’m heading back to Africa! I’m going to take some kids on an adventure that will no doubt change their lives as it did mine. I’m going to lead an expedition trip. This will take us back to Kenya, then Uganda, and to Tanzania; all done in two months! Then I’ll come back for a few months to do some intense support raising to move to Costa Rica! I will have more info on Costa Rica soon but for now just know I’m teaming up with some awesome women to set some ministry there. It’s gonna be awesome and great and I’m overwhelming excited for what God is going to do!

So first things first.
This summer…Expedition Africa.
I’m gonna need some money.
I’m gonna need some prayer.
I’m gonna need some encouraging emails.
I’m gonna need YOU!

None of my traveling happens without the rest of the body. If you want to support this trip financially please click the link:
**I will need about 1,500 dollars** Every little bit helps!!!!

If you don’t feel lead to give. Awesome. Please don’t feel obligated in any way. There are definatly other ways for you to partner with me and be apart this journey again. Pray for me! Send me encouraging emails!  Read and share the blogs I’ll write. pray for my team and my co-leader that I will have. Pray for Africa and the places/people we will meet. I will be posting updates throughout my trip of things and people to pray for. It’s going to be awesome. I’m always excited for an adventure and a challenge the Lord gives me.

It’s always awesome to be like Isaiah.

Is 6:7-9….
” The seraph touched my mouth with it and said: ‘Now that this has touched your lips, your guilt has departed and your sin is blotted out.’ Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’
And I said, ‘Here am I; send me!”

I’m honored and excited for the next few months!!
