Freedom.

This has been something that has been on my heart for a while and I think that it is only 'fitting' to write a blog on this today, a day when over 2000 years a go-Christ died on the cross for my sins. For your sins.  A day when the world became dark and cold.  An event that forever changed the world at the time, and the world forever more.  A few simple, yet passionate words that Christ spoke as He breathed His last breath…

IT IS FINISHED
~John 19:30~

This past week, I went on a last minute trip down to meet/visit some WR "R" Squad mates in St. Louis.  Given how the timing/situation worked out, I KNOW it was a totally a 'God ordained' trip. At the last minute, I was able to get a week off work and drive the 15 hours down, with my aunt and uncle, who were going anyway (Thank you SO much Dave and Grace!), and then fly back in time for when work needed me to be back.  The timing was PERFECT in so many ways.

I am only realizing now, how much I needed a trip like this, at this point in my life.  I know some people may think I am/was crazy for going down and meeting people who I've only ever knowing 'this side of a computer screen via skype' but trust me when I say that although we may have started off as strangers–>it was/is our connection through the cross, through the words Christ spoke when He said IT IS FINISHED on the cross–>that we were/are able to leave not ONLY as friends, but as Sisters in Christ. As sisters in HIS amazing LOVE and Freedom that HE offers us unconditionally.

As we spent time together talking, laughing, taking tons of photos, going to the zoo, colouring (yes I just turned 25 and I still LOVE going to the zoo and colouring), watching movies, having a late night praise and worship session, eating out, praying, driving, building a snowman, getting tattoos, and just enjoying one another's company–> God kept whispering in my ear "Nikki, look at how MUCH I love you.  Mere hours a go, you all were total strangers but now look at how close you have become->this is your WR family and there are still 70 more amazing people who I want you to meet and travel the world with together spreading MY love. Do you not see that I have hand picked each and EVERY one of you? Regardless of your past. Regardless of your sins.  Regardless of how you were brought up.  Regardless of whether or not you are American or Canadian.  Regardless of whether or not you feel worthy of my love and freedom…because Daughter—>

YOU ARE WORTHY AND YOU ARE FREE and I LOVE YOU so much!"

I honestly did not know what to expect going into the week.  I knew we would hang out, have fun and laugh, but I did not honestly know that God would change my life the way He did.  He renewed a fire within me.  A fire that is making me SUPER excited to meet the rest of Ou(R) squad in a mere 50 days at TC and He re lit the fire to the 'GO OUT and make Disciples of ALL Nations" with the rest of the squad when we launch in July.  He challenged me to be BOLD right here, right now. To speak TRUTH and life into EVERYONE I meet (whether that's a co worker, or the person serving me at subway).  He reminded me what it meant and looked like to be vulnerable and open, even when everything inside you screamed not to.  He reminded me that yes I DO have a past, but that He loves me regardless of it and wants nothing more than to continually extend His Love and Grace upon my life.

Ou(R) squad–>are you ready for a change?  Are you ready to BE changed? What are you doing RIGHT NOW where you are, to BE that change?  How is GOD reaching lives through you right now? Are you ready to hang out with 79 other people who are JUST as crazy and passionate for God as you are?  Are you ready to pray freedom over sqaudmates, over yourself-when the devil tries to break you down? Are you ready for those 79 people to become a family to you? Are you ready to serve the 'least of these' whether that's in India, Nepal, Mozambique, Thailand or any of the other countries that God has instore for us?

Are you excited to be broken?

I know I am.

Marie, Jessica, Karah, Emily, and Em…Thank you for loving this crazy Canadian-
you ALL have truly touched my life and I am forever thankful and blessed!
