That’s the question I’ve been asking lately.

I have always been a believer, and I have always know the truth, but I am so new on my walk, I have an abundance of questions and knowing when He is talking to me has been the biggest unknown.

I embarked on my World Race journey on a spur of the moment decision. I hadn’t been to church in months, it was far overdue. So one morning I woke up and decided to go, to first service at that! This particular week at church a family friend of my pastors was in town to speak about their new documentary, Suena. Little did I know their daughter was going to talk about her experience on the World Race, and little did I know my sister was going to create my WR account before service was over.

I prayed about it, let the account sit there for a few weeks, but it was so heavy on my heart to fill out that application that I had to do it. After another few weeks went by of my dragging my feet, slowly answering the questions, filling out the application, I finally submitted it, and a few days letter, I was accepted!

I got the call at work, good thing I have my own office because the waterworks in full force. I was so overwhelmed with emotions I didn’t know what else to do. So after hanging up the phone and calling everyone I knew, the fundraising began!

I knew this was going to be the most difficult part because I had never been big in fundraising in school, nor did I even know where to start. After sending letters, passing along an orange toilet, selling scarves, and numerous other events, the funds just weren’t coming in like I needed them to. I had a deadline in 3 weeks and I was no where close to where I needed to be.

This is when I started to ask the question, “When is God talking to me”.

I had never considered changing my route, this was the route I knew I wanted, the countries were perfect and the timing fell right into place, but this wasn’t the route or the time HE wanted me on. After many, many prayers, discussion, and struggling back and forth in my head my mom came to me one day, and said that family friends of ours came to her and in lamemans terms said, “this wasn’t the right time for Nikki”.

So, family and friends, I have now changed my route. I am now an early member of the July route 3. Instead of my original 11 countries, I will now be traveling to India, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Botswana, Swaziland, South Africa, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica.

I am still a long ways away from my $16,000 goal and I am, still, in desperate need of more prayer, so please continue to support in anyway you can!
