I haven’t written a blog post in a while, and my only explanation is that the past few months have been FULL. It’s now June 1st, and I’d love to update everyone on where I’m at!
First of all, and most importantly– thank you. Yes, you. The person reading this blog post. Thank you for being at least slightly interested in keeping up with me and reading about how God is working in this new, exciting journey as I prepare to leave for Southeast Asia for a year in September. WOAH!
Thank you to all the people who have donated towards my mission trip. I’m sending you a personal thank you if I haven’t already, but I want to write it here too. I set goals for myself a few months back and I’m so thankful to say that in May I SURPASSED my goal of reaching $7,000. Currently I am at $7,211 although my blog doesn’t reflect that quite yet. Thank you for being a part of this with me, for allowing God to use you, and for your desire to see so many hearts impacted in the countries I’ll be staying in.
To be honest, there have been moments (and will be more moments to come, I’m sure) where I was ready to give up. That $16,000 just seemed too daunting and I did not trust that God was in this with me, that He would provide. But He’s proved Himself so faithful through donations, through encouragement from friends, and simply by providing me the perseverance and faith to keep working towards my goal!
Next month I will be at training camp for 10 days, and I am so excited (and superrrr nervous)!!! I will finally get to meet all the wonderful people I will be going with and will get to learn more about what day-to-day life is like on the race. Let me tell you– I have already met a few of the people I am going with and they are top notch. I’m already encouraged by their wisdom, faith, and BIG hearts.
By the end of June, my new fundraising goal is to reach $10,000. This is my most ambitious goal yet, but God’s is so in this.
