We can make it though this, guys. Only a couple more weeks and we’ll get to say,

“REMEMBER THAT ONE TIME … IN NIGERIA…?”

(That day has come, Praise da Lord!)

Now, I don’t want you to get the idea that our team didn’t do anything the whole month.  It may have felt like that at times, but we definitely had some amazing opportunities with God’s Care Missions!

We just never knew what was coming up next, so we were constantly waiting around for our next summons.  Many times, someone would come to us with a message like,

“Hello, I hope you are well.  We are leaving for a 3 day crusade in about 15 minutes, and it is a few hours away.  We will be staying with a host family those nights.  So, meet us at the van so we can leave shortly!”

By month eight on the race, we all have excellent packing skills.  So, we’d get to the van ASAP, and then end up waiting for another 2 hours before we would actually leave, which left us making lovely video clips like the ones above during those fantastic hours. 😉

One of the coolest things about not ever knowing what we were doing next was that we had to rely on the Holy Spirit COMPLETELY.  I never in a million years would have dreamed I’d get up in front of thirty people, let alone a thousand, without anything prepared and just trust God to give me His words.

I knew God could do that of course in theory, and I’ve watched Him move that way in other people, but I’d never actually been put in a situation where I got to exercise that faith until Nigeria!  The Holy Spirit revealed so much to me through some of these really hard situations!  I’ve learned more about intercessory prayer, spiritual discernment, seeing with His eyes, and trusting the God inside of me when I feel like I can’t make it.

I decided I better make another slideshow-video to share the good times, the people we came to know and love this month!

Here’s some of the things we did with God’s Care Missions, with Evangelist Sunday Oguche:

  • We shared testimonies, sermons, or short words at 3 Crusades, a women’s conference, a minister’s conference, several sunday church services and a couple youth meetings.
  • We sang/played a song most of the events!  The first Crusade, we didn’t have a thing planned, and just walked up on stage in front of thousands of people, Sage started playing the guitar, Mike was on the drums, and I just started worshipping and singing what God popped into my head!  It was the most insane, amazing worship time ever!
  • We did one-on-one counseling with several youth groups, and prayed over a countless number of people.
  • We hung out at the God’s Care Missions compound, where we lived, and loved on some of the most adorable children that live there with their families.  Many people live there who are learning at the small Bible school or who are partnered with the ministry in some way.

So, this wraps up our time in West Africa!!  Our squad is safely in Romania this month, and my team is in Tirgu-Mures.  More Europe blogs to come!
