After 9 months of constantly moving I’m pretty used to adjusting to a new environment only to pick up and start all over again. I haven’t found myself too sad about leaving most of our previous countries. Enter Thailand. I probably would cry if I didn’t know we’d be coming back for a week for final debrief. This month has been the highlight of The Race. My favorite by far and it went by in the blink of an eye.
What’s funny is I’ve never really thought much about traveling to Asia. It’s safe to say I’m in love. Something else I love about Thailand is I know God has something meant for me here. It’s difficult to explain but I know it will continue to play a part in my heart and future ministry. Details are still fuzzy and I have peace in knowing that doesn’t mean now, but at some point in my lifetime I’ll be back with a more specific call.
So, as much as I hate to be hot, I got to spend the hottest month of the Thai year in Thailand dripping sweat in 89% or higher humidity and loving every minute of it. I left Phuket yesterday and am leaving in a few hours to fly to Vietnam where I’ll be doing ministry in Ho Chi Minh City for the month of May. Vietnam is a closed country so much like back when I was in Turkey details next month will be vague and I’d ask that you be careful with blog comments. Please continue to comment (I love them) just be cautious over the top ‘Christian’ comments.

[For our girls day we found a vineyard and took an elephant ride through it, then had lunch overlooking Hua Hin.]

During our time in Phuket, our contact took us to see ‘The Big Buddha.’ It was weird seeing people bowing and worshiping to something that is clearly man made. The statue was being tiled so it’s covered in scaffolds and men were working on it.

[There was also another Buddha statue made of gold. This buddha is 12 metres high,
made of 22 tons of brass and costing 8 million baht, approximately $250,000 USD. That’s Liz and Bethany in the picture.]
