So I’ve been a little behind on introducing some important people in my life. I attended a 10 day training camp a few weeks ago for the Race. I headed to Georgia for camp not knowing a soul. I left with a heart full of love for my new family.
First things first. There are 88 World Racers launching in August. I can’t explain to you how 88 people become close friends in 10 measly days of training camp, but it happened.
From those racers we were split into two squads with whom we will travel with and have debriefs at the end of every month. It’s surprising how quickly I’ve come to love this group of 45 people. They’re my new brothers and sisters.
Introducing the Infamous “K” Squad…
From our squads we were then divided into teams of 6-7 to live in community for the next 11 months.
I think of how many times in my life I’ve told God, or shown by my actions I clearly know what’s best for my life. It’s in some of those moments God brings life’s best surprises. My team is a perfect instance. In the beginning, something just didn’t click. It wasn’t until each of us began to tell our stories we realized the divine intervention we had encountered. It quickly became obvious why we were a team. I’m thrilled to see what this year holds. I have so much to learn from these strong men and women.
So without further ado…
Meet Team Beautiful Feet.
Allow me to introduce my amazing family:
Tres Washington – Our Fearless Leader – God has given Tres the talent of leadership and it definitely suits. Full of affirmation and incredible words of wisdom he is a great encourager. Tres carries a sense of boldness like nobody else. I have much to learn from him. He truly is a man after God’s heart and watching and hearing his passion for the Lord is infectious.
Bambi Bigley – This stunning woman of God is chalk full of courage. She joined the Race not long ago and her unwaivering trust in the Lord’s provision for her trip is an example to all. Bambi speaks with intention, truth and love. She has a huge heart for missions and her desire to change the world and bring hope to those in need is an inspiration.
Birkleigh Foreman – If you need laughter and energy, Birkleigh is your girl. Full of life and a passion for the arts, she is confident in the talents the Lord has given her. Her beauty and confidence is unmatchable; you can’t help but be drawn to her. Full of compassion, Birkleigh is quick to comfort and speak affirmation into those around her, even perfect strangers.
Bethany Brueggen – Among one of the first people I met at the airport in Atlanta, Bethany and I connected from the beginning. This gorgeous woman has a heart to change the world. I admire her desire to seek the truth in every situation. We spent hours at camp just sitting and talking; she was always eager to bring it to the Lord in prayer or dig into the word.
Ralph Kelley – Our gentle warrior. Ralph has an incredible story and it’s obvious God has him on the race for a special reason, one that I can’t wait to be revealed. He is quick to protect and tend to the needs of others as well as employ the power of prayer. Ralph radiates the joy he has for the Lord to others and you can’t help but smile when you see him.
Heather Dodge – This beautiful woman brings amazing integrity. I know her vulnerability will challenge our team to be open and accountable to each other this year. Heather has a heart of gold and you can feel the love and joy the Lord has filled her with in her sweet hugs, contagious laughs and strong prayers.
Be sure and keep my team in your prayers throughout this year! I have linked all their blogs and you can also find them on the left side under my ‘Links’ section. I can’t wait to spend the next year with this incredible group of kingdom seekers. I hope that those reading this will get to know me better as well as my family as we embark on this adventure!
