Highlights from my home in Australia…

    • Living in a one room church with purple on every wall
    • Being greeted by a lizard over a foot long the first night
    • On the first night sleeping on pews to get away from the bugs
    • Waking up with a soar back due to sleeping on the pews
    • Feeling like you are going to sweat yourself to death from the heat
    • Finding 3 huge spiders in the church while sweeping
    • Having to catch the jumping spiders in containers so that teammates could take them outside…not my first choice
    • Cleaning out boxes of stuffed animals and sometimes finding a mouse or two
    • Scarring teammate Jeanne up onto a chair with the baby lizards we found
    • On the second night being woken up by a huge, fury, brown spider crawling up my leg (some say they are poisonous)…i’m still alive
    • On the third night setting up my tent inside the church…I think you get the idea
    • Being able to scroll through the rainforest on an everyday basis
    • Clearing the area in order to learn countryline dancing from an aboriginal woman…Marine
    • Taking a middle afternoon stroll to the gorge to cool off…about a 10 minute walk or just in your back yard beyond the rainforest
    • Learning about the aboriginal culture along with other aborigianls on movie night (a lot of the culture and living tactics were lost due to the history of the Europeans)
    • Hearing birds in the trees that sound like monkeys
    • Being woken up in the middle of the night either by the mouse we couldn’t catch or the huge lizard looking for her babies

    …it’s only been 6 nights!!!!!!
