This is only the beginning. Today, I did one of the hardest things I’ve had yet to do in the 27 years lived thus far… I said goodbye to the people I love back home in Texas. I strapped on a 70L pack on my back plus a daypack as I looked back to see my family wave from afar. Tears streamed down my face as I repeatedly took deep breaths. This is it. The moment you have anticipated for 7 long months. You are now a missionary entering the world to serve others and share the greatest story ever told, the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The more this journey for Jesus unfolds, the more certain I become I am EXACTLY where I need to be. Jesus continually guides my feet and reminds me consistently that He has a plan far bigger than I could ever picture. These reminders are so clear that His power is undeniable. Raw. Real.
It is with great joy that I also share with all of you readers how super rad Jesus actually has been… I am FULLY funded for The World Race. Yep! You read that correctly! That “impossible” fundraising number of $16,277 has been raised!! Every single penny! At training camp a month ago, I prayed a prayer asking the Lord to reveal His power and help fully fund me before launch. 5 days after I prayed that prayer over $11,000 hit my fundraising account. 5 days!! Funny thing is, ‘5’ is my favorite number. This revealed to me that nothing, not even a magical number, has more power nor praise than Jesus for answering that prayer!
‘And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.’
Luke 11:9-10
….Now Here is the neat part about that answered prayer and an example how this journey has been so led. As I sat on the plane and began to pray to God about this year that He would continue to confirm this path for my life, a lady next to me taps me and asks,”Is this yours?” as she hands me a gold playing card with the number ‘5’ on it!!
The only other time I have seen a gold playing card is when a friend revealed they were from Asia. This route for the world race I am embarking on spends 5 months in Asian countries!
Friends, GOD IS AWESOME. All we have to do is TRUST and walk out our lives in obedience to Him.
I am ready. Expectant. I have no image of how this next year will look, but I am prepared for God to move. I am thankful to all of you who have been and are following this blog. Thank you for your love and support. I love you guys, you are missed! There is a creator, an amazing God, who does impossible things if you just choose to follow Him.
