I am from Bogue Chitto, MS. Yes, it is as small as it sounds and does not even have a blinking yellow light… approximately 600 people to be more specific. I recently graduated from Mississippi College with a degree in Christian Studies. I am 21 years old but am a 5 year old at heart (as my girlfriend says)… my sister gave me legos as a graduation present and I have to say that I built some pretty cool stuff. I have had the incredible priviledge of working at a place called the Baptist Children’s Village in Jackson, MS. I handle the recreation for the kids there who all come from pretty rough home lives. The kids stay there until things are better at home. I love them so much and will miss them.
God has also blessed me with the opportunity to go on mission trips to Ukraine, Burkina Faso (Africa), China, and the Philippines. I am very excited about going on the World Race. I know that it will be hard to leave my girlfriend, family, and friends, and also hard to go through the things we will have to endure. However, I know that God has me at this place right now and is going to grow me like I have never imagined. I feel as if God is using this to prepare me for missionary life in all aspects of it. I have a heart for the poor and unreached people groups of the world. That and the challenge that the World Race presents is what drew me to it, through God of course. Please be in prayer for my girlfriend and family as they try to deal with my leaving. I know that God will be with them but prayer ALWAYS helps.
