The Ninja Christmas!!
A brilliant person recently asked our team to think and share what they would say if we were to go home at this moment and someone asked you how your trip was. After writing my answer and sharing it with my team I thought it would be a great opportunity to share with you all back home, how these past 5 months have been for me.
I’ve learned that these 11 months weren’t just about Jesus changing the world through me but also about him changing me through the world, through community, and through his people. In the past 5 months I’ve learned to chose life for myself. I realized that I expected people to speak life into me and when that didn’t happen I became disappointed with friends and family that I now know love me. I can’t expect people to speak into my life when I don’t believe those things about myself. I’ve learned so much about my Identity.
The Ninjas started this month off by setting personal goals and team goals. As you read in one of my previous blogs I’m learning more and more what it means to speak life. One of my personal goals is to learn different ways to speak into other lives. My team made a similar goal this month, to encourage each other and to speak life into one another. The Ninjas have gotten creative for the holiday’s.
We made our own Christmas trees…
Then we hung them all up on our wall…
The girls and I came up with new ideas on how to speak into our teammates lives. We handed ornaments out to everyone on the team. You were to write an encouraging note or a word of life on one side of the ornament for another teammate, then hang the ornament on their tree the words being hidden. That way on Christmas day everyone can turn their ornaments over and read what had been written for them.
We also made squares and rectangles. When all of them have been put up we make a box (a present) from them. Then on Christmas morning everyone has the gift of life to open.
Present ends up looking like this….
At the end of the day on the 25th every member of the Ninja family has been encouraged and life has been spoken over them.
