Best of… (SE Asia Edition)
I have been to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Chiang Mai, and Ho Chi Minh. So this award ceremony may be a little biased since I did not visit the entire country and was in some cities longer than others and at different times than other. But who cares?!?! This is supposed to be fun!
In my own opinion & not in any order:
Best food: Thailand
Craziest traffic: Ho Chi Minh (hands down!)
Best chocolate milk: Cambodia
Most scenic: Thailand
Most recognizable city (ie easiest city not to get lost in): Chiang Mai, Thailand
Best weather: Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
Spiciest food: Thailand (for sure!)
Best ice cream: Vietnam
Best mode of transportation: Songtaus in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Most expensive: Thailand
Best accommodations: Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
Average hours/day when I was not sweating (per country): 12hrs – Vietnam, 10 hrs – Thailand, 0 hrs- Cambodia
Easiest language to “grasp”: Khmer (Cambodia)
Easiest currency exchange rate: Vietnam
Best markets: Siem Reap, Cambodia
Best tourist attractions: Chiang Mai, Thailand
Most hazardous to my health: Thailand (fractured ankle, bacterial infection, lacerations)
Most annoying roosters: Cambodia
Most willing to barter: Cambodia
Best hospital: Thailand (only one I visited)
Least amount of squattie potties: Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
Best place to run: Chiang Mai, Thailand
